Pasta and rice both, depending on variety, absorb more or less two times their weight in water when they are cooked, in other words they approximately treble in volume. So for 1/3 cup cooked measure you need c1/9 cup (about two tablespoonfuls) dry. This is impractical to measure, especially with shapes like elbow which which can't be levelled smoothly as rice can. If I have calculated correctly, you need 12.5 grams of dry pasta. That's hardly worth cooking. It would be easier to cook a weighed amount, say 100g to make calculations easy, measure it when cooked (I would guess it comes to a bit under three cups), keep the result on file and use up the leftover macaroni in other recipes in the near future. Q. I took algebra 1 last year, and this year I borrowed an algebra 2 textbook from my teacher to better prepare for next year. However, after flipping through the whole book, I found it to be the same as algebra 1. Is algebra 2 just reviewing algebra 1?
