How do I get my 4 month old daughter to sleep through the night?
Q. She's a really good sleeper and goes to bed at 7 pm. We wake her for a dream feed at 11 pm but she still wakes up at 2 or 3 am (where she downs a 6 ounce bottle) and then again around 4 or 5 (she drinks another 4 ounces). Any tips to make her wake up only once?

A. Maybe try keeping her up a bit later and not waking her up to feed at 11. Try putting her down for the night at 10 and she may wake a 4 for a feeding, then prolong the feeding by 10 - 15 minutes and eventually she will sleep through the night. I did this with both of my daughters and now they both go to bed at 8 and wake at 8:00am. Our daughter would wake and we would try rocking her back to sleep - as this allowed us to prolong the feed. It is best to try this on the weekend as you may be a up and down a lot on the first few nights until she settles into a routine. I am not suggesting that you starve your child (in case anyone thinks that), I am only suggesting that you try to calm or sooth your baby back to sleep by other methods… [cont.]

On the W-4 form can a person choose zero for the number of allowances he is claiming?
Q. My son is starting work in the beginning of December. I will claim him on my taxes this year as a dependent. When he fills out the W-4 form for work should he put one or zero? The directions don't say anything about putting zero, but just putting one if no one else can claim you as a dependent. Are allowances the same thing as exemptions or dependents on tax returns? Thanks!

A. yes allowances it the same as exemptions or dependants. Your son can claim single with zero dependants on his w -4 form. What that means is that his employer will take the maximum amount of taxes out of his gross earnings for the pay period. When he files his income tax the following year he will file single, one then he will get a tax refund. Basically what you are doing is putting your money into a non-bearring interest account for a year.
