Setting up webserver to host personal web pages using DSL from verizon?
Q. Verizon does not appear to allow to do it unless you become a business account (more $$) . Has anyone set up a web server (apache) and have it accesible via http from outside? Any workarounds? they say it is possible only with static ip address. which you can get if you pay them large amt. The dynamic address of the router is not accessible or even pingable from outside with a consumer account.

A. I'd really recommend purchasing a cheap hosting package. The amount of money and time you will spend keeping your personal server up to date will far exceed the cost of hosting with a professional company.

Simple login pages for personal website?
Q. I am creating a website for my sister to display pictures of her family for friends and family to view. She does not want any Joe Schmo to look though - in case of creeps. So, I need to have friends and family log in. My scripting experience is limited so I'm looking for a tutorial or a download that will help me set this up. I'm using Dreamweaver. Any recommendations?

A. Here you can create a login access without any coding. You can also charge for viewing your webpage if need be. a) What you can do is have a link called login in your website that opens a page called login.htm. b) log in to nosle and click on Secure & Monetize your webpage/blog. Do steps 1,2 and 4. c) Click on Get Code and Copy the 3 line code d) In your login.htm after the body tag, add the code you just copied. Your users will require you to login before they can access the login page. The logged in user's email and nick are available to you via javascript variables. (Optional) So after logging in users will be returned to your login.htm page and if you had at the end of the page a code like
