Can someone tell me how much K-9 Advantage flea preventative is in the ampules for larger dogs?
Q. I need to economize. The Vet bills are sky high. We want to divide K-9 for larger dogs between 2 small dogs, 8 and 15 pounds. We know there is .4 ml in the smallest and 1.0 ml. in the next size so I need to know what size to buy and share it between the two. Thanks for any help given.

A. Divide the 1.0 ml between the two dogs, but be careful. If your dogs arent super tick/flea machines, have you considered Frontline spray? It's a way that we economized with farm cats...one bottle lasted the whole summer between about 6 cats, and wasnt super expensive. Just a thought. ADD: Here's a link:

What is the relationship of Schedule K-1 versus funds reported as transactions from my brokerage house?
Q. I got a K-1 for a fund that is also reported on my brokerage house gains/losses transactions that I entered into my tax return. I also entered in the K-1 information and it reduced my refund. Given that the transactions for the fund are reported via the brokerage house transactions am I not reporting things twice by entering in the K-1 info?

Can you reconcile the numbers from the K-1 to the brokerage statement? What is the significance of using the variables h and k in mathematic formulas?
Q. For example, the equation of a circle is (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2 I understand that the variables h and k in this equation signify the center of the circle at point (h,k). However, I would like to know the historical significance of using the letters h and k over other variables. My math teacher did not know the answer and I was interested.

A. I really doubt if there is a historical reason for the h and k. In math equations certain letters have traditionally stood for certain things, e.g. u, v, . . . z are variables, s, t are often used as parameters. In summations, i, j, k, l , m, n are most used. Most of the other letters are designated to constants, including h and k (besides it being used as a summation index.) The letter e is probably for Euler. If there is a special reason for h and k as the center of the conics it might come from German. The Germans had a strong influence in math when it was being evolving. h and k might be in some way connected to the German for horizontal and vertical. (Nope, just looked it up, their vertical starts with a v.)
