From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. P is the sixteenth letter of the basic modern Latin alphabet. Its name in English (pronounced /ˈpiː/) is spelled pee. HistoryThe Semitic Pê (mouth), as well as the Greek Π or π (Pi), and the Etruscan and UsageIn English and most other European languages, P is a voiceless bilabial plosive. Both initial and final Ps can be combined with many other discrete consonants in English words. A common example of assimilation is the tendency of prefixes ending in N to assume an M sound before Ps (such as "in" + "pulse" → "impulse" — see also List of Latin words with English derivatives). A common digraph in English is "ph", which represents the voiceless labiodental fricative /f/, and can be used to transliterate Phi (φ) in loanwords from Greek. In German, the digraph "pf" is common, representing a labial affricate of /pf/. Arabic speakers are usually unaccustomed to pronouncing /p/; they pronounce it as /b/. From Wikipedia under the

Q. The original fermi level of the p and n-regions taken separately are different due to difference in concentration and type of doping. However, at the junction, the energy level diagram usually depicts a common fermi level while conduction and valency bands are displaced. How does that happen? Asked by fortunefinder - Wed Dec 5 12:35:40 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Energy levels in materials are always relative. In other words, you can say that the conduction band is so many eV above the valence band, but it has no particularly absolute value. The Fermi level is simply the energy level of the topmost occupied electronic state (at T = 0). Thid once again is relative - you can say where it is with respect to say the valence band. Until, that is, you join the two materials. When you do this the energy of the topmost occupied state on the n side *must* be the same as that on the p side because the materials are in contact. If it were not, then electrons would flow into the lower energy states across the boundary until they were. Clearly, for these two levels to be the same across the boundary, the… [cont.] Answered by epidavros - Wed Dec 5 13:15:25 2007 What is the P Flashing switch on the top of the WRX Momo stock steering wheel? Q. Why are they called different things and how would i write the hypotheses that use p and p-naught in words? Thanks. Asked by pirana203 - Sun Apr 30 15:19:19 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. In statistics, a null hypothesis (p naught) is a hypothesis set up to be nullified or refuted in order to support an alternative hypothesis (p). When used, the null hypothesis is presumed true until statistical evidence in the form of a "hypothesis test" indicates otherwise. There are 2 sites that explain z-test and null hypothesis (p naught) pretty well using examples on Wikipedia. Answered by u2clay - Sat May 6 13:51:51 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "P" |
