Why were all the original natives of North America and South America have mostly brown skins, dark eyes, black hairs and not so tall stature. If they crossed over from what is now Siberia or from other parts of the European or African lands how come theres hardly no hints of any type of African or European look in them ? Asked by DntNoItAll - Fri Oct 9 13:25:19 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Actually, they are supposedly desecended from Asian cultural, and they do have a slight "Asian" look to them. Siberia is in Asia. And their skin isn't brown. It's more of a russet, or coppery color. Fortifying the Atlantic Coast to protect French possessions in the Caribbean C. Providing an outlet for excess population from French cities D. Gold and silver mining I have a feeling it's either A or D, but I have NO idea. I can't find the answer anywhere! <:O Asked by Miranda - Mon Oct 6 12:19:23 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Your answer is A. At least according to Wikipedia: "After its failed attempt at a colony in the 1540s, for a time France limited its colonial interests in what would become Canada to fishing in the Grand Banks off the coast of Newfoundland. By the beginning of the 17th century, however, the French had become very interested in the fur trade, and this led them to push inland to better trade with American Indian tribes. French interest in the area began with the founding of Tadoussac in 1599. In 1603, Samuel de Champlain made his first trip to North America on a fur trading expedition. ... In 1608, he created a fur trading post that would grow into the city of Quebec, a settlement that later became the capital of French North America."
